TunableDouble and your old TunableNumber are not equivalent. There's no way to set a default or use a tuning mode. TunableDouble is inherently transient and lives entirely on the NetworkTables database. There's no way to write or save values consistently. You may need to subclass or do something else to get equivalent behavior. I recommend not porting this until a later date.
